Week 1 - Introduction

I am thrilled that you have decided to make this pilgrimage with me as we study the life of Jesus over the next 10 weeks. God will take us on a pilgrimage to many places that we have never been. God will reveal to us many things about Himself that we never knew. God will accomplish a work in us and through us on this pilgrimage that we could never predict.

I have prayed many times that you would pick up this study and be ready for what God wants to show you through His Word. Your willingness to start this study demonstrates your desire to seek Him. Stay strong in the Lord as you study His Word with me, beloved. Even if you have studied the life of Jesus previously, allow God access so He can teach you a fresh word. Give Him freedom to show you more about Him. Don’t let familiarity steal from you a new perspective and new word from God.

We have thousands of years to travel in this first week. In the second half of our study, our pace will slow down as we dive into the Scriptures more deeply. You may feel like we are moving in slow motion, but not this week! This week we begin in John chapter 1. It starts at the beginning of time before Jesus was ever born as a man. When God threaded these Scriptures together for me, my heart was overflowing with worship for Him. His hand wove together a story that spanned from before time began to 4,000 years later. It makes me want to shout to the world, “He is God! He is the One and Only God!”
